TM311 (T1)-World Tourism

This course presents a comprehensive survey of the tourist destination in the world. The major discussion will be on international documentation, visa requirements, health and safety issues, geographical characteristics, access routes, major attractions, gastronomy, distinctive cultural attributes of major tourist destination countries, and international organizations relating to tourism and their major functions.

 

HTM117 (T1)-Philippine Culture and Tourism Geography

This course presents comprehensive coverage of the major tourist destinations in the Philippines.  Major discussions will be on political structures and subdivisions, geographical characteristics, major attractions, gastronomy, culture and traditions of the various regions of the country leading to the realization of the potentials of the Tourism industry of the Philippines.  Students will also have a comprehensive knowledge about the mechanism, logistics, operations and management of the tourism network system in the Philippines with its inherent physical and cultural resources as seen in the various provinces of the country.

TM213 (T1)- Tour and Travel Management

The course studies the roles of the Travel Agency and Tour Operator in the Tourism Industry, leading to a better understanding of the trade and its internal workings, the role of each component in offering cost effective and good “value for money” products for its clients.  It also includes topics such as tour products and its efficient development and marketing as well as travel agency and tour operator’s organization and functions.  In addition to lecture classes, the students are exposed to the skills required in the travel trade, such as interpersonal and communication skills, terminologies, documentation, procedures, and systems used.
