MET 231 Principles of Metallurgy

The course deals with the basic principles of metallurgy ( the process of extracting metals from their ores) which deals with different  metal extraction methods such as mineral dressing, pyrometallurgy, hydrometallurgy and electrometallurgy and to adaptive metallurgy, terminology principles and processes, flow diagrams and overview of local and foreign metallurgical industries. It basically starts from the run of mine ore to comminution (crushing and grinding) to milling/ore dressing ) then to pyromettallurgical processing wherein pure metals are produced.
